One week before the Atlanta Falcons play in Super Bowl LI, Mayor Kasim Reed hosted a pep rally to celebrate the team’s big game.

"I'm so proud of our Atlanta Falcons," Mayor Reed as the event began at Atlanta City Hall Friday around 11:30 a.m.

"Atlanta is a great place to live, but it's an even better place for a professional sports team because of the fans we have," Falcons President and CEO Rich McKay said after Mayor Reed's introduction.

Atlanta native Usher then took the stage, telling fans to "rise up." The singer said when he was just 5-years-old he asked Santa Claus for the Falcons to go to the Super Bowl.

"This is our second time," Usher said. "This time we're getting that W."
