A man was shot after fights in the AT&T Stadium parking lot after Sunday’s Dallas Cowboys game.

Arlington police said they believe there were two fights that happened within minutes of each other about 8:20 p.m. that ended with a 43-year-old man being shot.

The suspect, Marvin Rodriguez, 28, apparently walked up to a 27-year-old and pointed a gun at him in a parking lot near Collins Street and Randoll Mill Road. That man walked away after Rodriguez pointed the gun at him.

A second fight occurred about a minute later and the 43-year-old man tried to break up the fight, but was knocked to the ground. Rodriguez walked up to the 43-year-old and shot him once in the neck.

Rodriguez then tried to flee the parking lot in a vehicle, but was stopped by officers. Police found a firearm they believe Rodriguez used in the shooting.

The shooting victim was flown to a Fort Worth hospital in serious condition.

Rodriguez faces two charges – aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Police ask anyone who have witnessed the fight or captured video of either fights to contact Detective Stellato at 817-459-5782.
