GIBSONTON (FOX 13) - Laura Beck and her husband Robert walked door to door pleading for the return of their beloved pup, Harley.
"That's the only chance I have of ever seeing him again, is to put it out there," said Laura.
"It bothers me, that's my dog," said Robert.
Harley is a one-year-old English bulldog. He was stolen from the Beck's Gibsonton home Wednesday afternoon.
The homeowner's son, Travis Murray, said the thieves broke in through a screen and pried open the back door with a tire iron, which was left behind.
"They came for my dog - that's what they came for, that's what they took," Laura suspected.
Also taken, another irreplaceable item: a heart shaped box. Inside were the ashes of Laura's grandparents.
The break-in has left this couple empty inside.
"Absolutely just turns my stomach, he's like my son my heart is broken," said Laura.
But - in a stunning twist - around 8:30 Thursday night, the break the family had been searching for arrived.
It turns out someone in Seffner bought Harley and after posting on Facebook about it, one of the Becks' friends saw the post and alerted them.
Harley is now back home where he belongs. The criminal investigation continues.
