NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - A 10-year-old girl was the victim of a vicious assault at the hands of a man who wanted her iPhone.
The NYPD is searching for the assailant who followed a girl into a building's vestibule in the Bronx and grabbed the iPhone 7 Plus before throwing her to the ground and kicking her in the face.
The assault on May 25 at about 4:50 p.m. was captured on security cameras. The man, wearing a white baseball cap and a towel wrapped around his neck, was standing inside the building. When the girl unlocked the door to enter the building he grabbed her and pulled her back out of the building.
The man ran down Holland Avenue in the area of Pelham Parkway North after the attack.
The girl is recovering from bruises and a cut lip.
