Rob Gronkowski's home burglarized during Super Bowl trip

New England Patriot Rob Gronkowski lost more than a game Sunday night, he lost some items from his home.  It was burglarized while he was out of town for the Super Bowl.

The Foxboro Police confirmed that Gronkowski called them to report the crime at 6:18 p.m. Monday, almost exactly 24 hours after the kickoff of the game.  He had returned home late Monday afternoon and discovered the break-in.

Police radio traffic indicated that "multiple safes and possibly guns" were stolen.  Police say it remains a "very active and dynamic criminal investigation" but they would not release any information about the items stolen or possible suspects.

They issued a statement saying they "respect the privacy of Mr. Gronkowki and every other homeowner that becomes a victim of this type of very personal property crime."

Gronkowski finished the Super Bowl with 116 receiving yards and two touchdowns on nine receptions in the Patriots' 41-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.  He has not announced his future plans but has two years remaining on his contract with the New England Patriots.
