JACKSON, N.J. - Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey announced that it was closing for the day on Friday after a power outage had originally forced them to delay its opening.
"The theme park will remain closed for the rest of the day," the theme park said in a tweet. "Crews are working diligently to restore power, and the park is expected to open at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow."
Guests who had tickets for Friday will be able to use them through Labor Day.
A long line of people had been waiting in the heat outside the park, without much shade earlier in the day on Friday as attempts to fix the loss of power were being made.
