NY Knicks fire head coach Derek Fisher
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - The NY Knicks announced Monday that they have relieved head coach Derek Fisher of his coaching duties. Associate head coach Kurt Rambis has been named interim coach.
Fisher, who was hired in June 2014, ends his coaching career with the Knicks with an overall record of 40-96 (.294).
The team made the decision Monday after losing Sunday for the fifth straight time. They have dropped nine of 10 and fallen to 23-31, well back in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
Kurt Rambis was named the interim head coach.
