Man found dead in fire in Brooklyn apartment

NEW YORK (AP) — Police say a man has been found dead after a fire in his Brooklyn apartment.

The blaze was reported around 2:30 p.m. Friday in a building on Jefferson Avenue, in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. The New York Police Department says firefighters extinguished the flames in a third-floor apartment and found 56-year-old Michael Floyd dead.

Authorities are investigating what caused the fire.
