Just another day for Gov. Chris Christie

For the upcoming FOX debate, N.J. Governor Chris Christie is confident he’ll make the Top 10 for the first Republican Primary Party.

That’s exactly what Christie spoke about when he appeared Sunday on FOX News' “America's Newsroom”.

"I'll be there on Thursday night," he declared.

Then, there was the Haskell Invitational at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, where American Pharoah won his first race that night since winning the Triple Crown.

When the governor presented the trophy in the Winner's Circle, he was booed.

But the story that got the most people talking was the governor’s appearance on CNN's “State of the Union with Jake Tapper,” where he said the national teachers union is the single most destructive force in public education in America.

When asked, who deserves a punch in the face? Christie responded, “Oh, the national teachers union, who's already endorsed Hillary Clinton, 16, 17 months before the election.”

Why?

“Because they're not for education for our children. They're for greater membership, greater benefits, greater pay for their members. And they are the single most destructive force in public education in America. I've been saying that since 2009. I've got the scars to show it, but I'm never going to stop saying it because they never change their stripes,” Christie explained.

Steve Wollmer, New Jersey Education Association’s Communications Director, reacts to Christie’s comments.

“It's shocking language. If somebody said that you deserved a punch in the face, how would you feel? Our members are, unfortunately, almost numb to this. They're so used to it after 5 1/2 years of this governor. He's never done anything but use this kind of language. So, it's almost like, here we go again. But this was particularly problematic. A punch in the face is about as violent as you can get with somebody,” Wollmer stated.
