NJ residents brave the elements during Tropical Storm Fay
The wind, the rain and the humidity weren’t enough to stop some New Jersey residents from braving the elements during Tropical Storm Fay, despite Governor Phil Murphy’s urging for people to stay inside.
NEW JERSEY - Some shore towns in New Jersey saw significant flooding as Tropical Storm Fay battered the region on Friday. A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for much of the area until midnight.
Parts of the Jersey Shore had already seen more than three inches of rain from Tropical Storm Fay by mid-morning. Ocean City, Maryland measured amounts over five inches.
Despite the intensity of the storm, however, some residents decided to brave the wind and rain to get out of the house for a few hours.

Tropical Storm Fay brings flooding to New Jersey
Roadways flooded and made streets passable but nothing other than watercraft as Tropical Storm Fay pummeled the Jersey coastline on Friday.
Bands of heavy rain contributed to the flooding on the roadways. Forecasters were calling for a storm surge of two feet with Tropical Storm Fay.
Floodwaters were also reportedly approaching homes in Sea Isle City, Avalon, and Stone Harbor.

Streets flood in Newark as Tropical Storm Fay strikes region
Parts of Newark, New Jersey, were under water on Friday, July 10, as Tropical Storm Fay hit the East Coast, according to the National Hurricane Center.
The storm made landfall along the coast of New Jersey about 10 miles northeast of Atlantic City, according to national forecasters.
