Girls, 10, 12, flip parents' car in joyride

Two sisters from Staten Island took their parents' SUV for a joyride and ended up flipping the vehicle, according to the NYPD.

The girls- ages 10 and 12- were headed to Dunkin' Donuts just after 2 p.m. Thursday when the Acura MDX landed on its side at the intersection of Manor Road and Lincoln Street in the Castleton Corners section of the borough.

At least one other vehicle was damaged in the crash.

The sisters were not injured but were taken to a hospital to be checked out. It was unclear which of the girls was behind the wheel.

No charges were filed.  A tow truck up-righted the vehicle and removed it from the scene.

The parents were at work and the girls were being watched by another relative.
