NORCROSS, Ga. - A Gwinnett County elementary school student could face criminal charges after authorities found a gun at school Wednesday.

It happened at Beaver Ridge Elementary School in Norcross.

The faculty was notified after the student showed the weapon to other students.

The principal sent a letter to parents that read in part, "this is a very serious situation so in addition to criminal charges for having a weapon on campus, the student will also face disciplinary action."
