Flash Flood Alert
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for northern sections of New Jersey and the Lower Hudson Valley including Rockland, Orange and Sullivan counties. 1-3" of rain could fall. The heaviest rain will be at about 9 pm- midnight.
NEW YORK - Some areas in the New York metropolitan region still reeling from deadly flooding brought on by the remnants of Hurricane Ida last week could see flooding, again, Wednesday.
The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Watch for Eastern Bergen County, Eastern Essex County, Eastern Passaic County, Eastern Union County, Hudson County, Western Bergen County, Western Essex County, Western Passaic County and Western Union County in New Jersey.
The Flash Food Watch was also issued for the Lower Hudson Valley including Rockland, Orange and Sullivan counties in New York.
1-3 inches of rain could fall on land already saturated from the last storm. The heaviest rain could fall at about 9 pm-midnight. Some showers could continue into Thursday morning.

Murphy warns of severe weather
Rain storms were forecasted for portions of New Jersey already impacted by flooding from last week's deadly flooding.
"We are at risk for some severe storms this evening which could bring wind gusts and downpours into areas that need neither," New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy during a briefing from Trenton. "Please take it safe as these storms progress. If your phone goes off with a flash flood or tornado warning, please take it seriously."
He also urged residents to stay off flooded roads.
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul also sounded the alarm.
"We witnessed the painful devastation left by the remnants of Hurricane Ida and, out of an abundance of caution, we are now keeping a close eye on this week's storms and any potential impacts they may cause across New York," Hochul said. "I am urging New Yorkers to prepare for any inclement weather that may head our way and monitor local forecasts."
New York City authorities issued an alert to be aware of the potential weather risks.
"Periods of heavy rain may result in localized minor to moderate urban flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. City agencies have taken action to clean catch basins and remove street litter in the event heavier rain occurs," Notify NYC said in a bulletin. "Thunderstorms may also create dangerous travel conditions. New Yorkers are advised to limit travel and stay inside during periods of severe weather."
On Tuesday, President Joe Biden toured devastated areas including Manville, New Jersey and East Elmhurst, Queens. His visited a day after approving federal aid for people in six New Jersey counties and five New York counties.
