Largo police have arrested a father after his son was found unresponsive in a hot trailer, and later died.

On Thursday afternoon, officers responded to Kings Manor Mobile Home Park at 1399 Belcher Road to check on the welfare of two children -- an eight-month-old boy and two-year-old girl. Both were found in the 109-degree mobile home, according to a media release.

The boy was found unresponsive due to the extreme heat, according to police. He died on scene.

The girl had severe dehydration and was transported to All Children's Hospital.

William Hendrickson, 25, was arrested and charged with child neglect and aggravated manslaughter of a child. Police said he was told by social services not to leave the children in the hot bedroom.
