A family said they returned to find their Gibsonton home burglarized and some of their most precious possessions stolen, including their dog, "Harley," and ashes of their loved ones.

It happened around 11 a.m. Wednesday. Witnesses said they saw three suspects people walking the dog down the road.

The homeowner's son, Travis Murray, said the thieves broke in through a screen and pried open the back door with a tire iron, which was left behind. The thieves turned the place upside down and took off with jewelry, bottles of liquor, one-year-old Harley, and a silver heart-shaped urn containing his grandparents' ashes, Murray said.

"They destroyed the house in the process," he said.

His mother and her husband were both at work at the time, but were combing the neighborhood Thursday, Murray said, trying to find any sign of evidence that will help.

The family is offering a reward for the safe return of Harley.
