Christie takes issue with poll results

Governor Chris Christie lashes out at a Monmouth University poll, which showed that he would get only 4 percent of the vote in a New Hampshire Republican presidential primary.

The poll, created by Patrick Murray, looked at likely primary voters.

It also found that twenty-four percent of those polled would support Donald Trump, and 12 percent would support Jeb Bush.

American Bridge 21st Century, a progressive research and communications organization committed to holding Republicans accountable for their words and actions, has video of Christie at a recent event in New Hampshire where he was asked about the poll.

He took jabs not only at the poll, but also at those responsible for it.

"First of all, it's the Monmouth University poll, so you guys should know by now that the Monmouth University poll was created just to aggravate me," Christie said, "Just, just look at Patrick Murray and his tweets, there couldn't be a less objective pollster about Chris Christie in America." 

"And it's funded by a former, liberal owner of the Asbury Park Press," he added in an apparent reference to Jules Plangere Jr., the former Asbury Park Press publisher for whom the University's Plangere Center for Communication is named, "So, you know, there are polls and there are polls, guys."

At Monmouth University, Patrick Murray shared his thoughts and reaction to Governor Christie.  

“Our job is to be the voice of the public and we do it well. Sometimes, you know, folks on both sides of the isle haven’t been happy with what we’ve pointed out, but the public feels what the public feels,” Murray stated.
