Chatham, New Jersey (My9NJ) - The Chatham Board of Education adopted a new policy that will subject Chatham High students to breathalyzer tests at school functions in the near future.
Superintendent Dr. Michael LaSusa explained the reasoning behind the policy that was approved at the regular meeting of the BOE on Monday night.
LaSusa reported that the latest incident involving the consumption of alcohol by CHS students at school events occurred last Friday at the football team's state championship game held at Kean University. Also, In the first round of the playoffs held at Newark's Schools Stadium, a CHS student needed medical attention because of alcohol consumption.
