Teaching financial education
Two new Local Initiatives Support Corporation Financial Opportunity Centers have opened in Newark.
They will be open seven days a week and are designed to help lift Newark families out of poverty through financial literacy, job search help and training.
"Newark is one of the highest cities in the world that many residents are cash poor," said Rhonda Lewis, executive director of Greater Newark Local Initiatives Support Corp. So today we're helping people get jobs, get job training, get access to benefits and financial coaching opportunities."
