With an estimated 21.8 million veterans in the United States who need special assistance with day to day activities, each of us should be doing something to help.

Meet New York Native Fredy Tello-Castillo. He is helping vets with his company: SempeRide.

“I noticed when I used to go to the VA for my own appointments, for my own health care, I noticed that the veterans outside would take forever to get picked up and to and from their homes to their appointments. So I started asking around how long does it take and a lot of them would say an hour, two hours, which I felt was unsatisfactory. We could do better for our veterans,” Tello-Castillo said.

A veteran himself, Tello-Castillo used the motto from the Marines, "Semper Fi", to inspire SempeRide.

"Semper Fi" means always loyal and that is exactly what his company aims to be.

They are providing reliable, handicapped equipped transportation that is hard to come by for our vets.

By hiring veterans, Tello-Castillo is providing jobs to friends who need them the most.

During the holiday season, it is important to remember those who need our help.
