October is a big month for raising awareness for Breast Cancer and now another organization called YGAP is raising awareness for another important cause.

Starting today through October 15th the campaign called the Polished Man aims to raise awareness about violence against children.

The campaign calls on men to paint one nail to raise funds for the one in five kids worldwide that experience violence before the age of eighteen.

Elliot Costello is the CEO of the organization and was inspired to launch the campaign by an encounter with a young girl named Thea.

While in Cambodia on a Service trip Costello bonded with the young lady, she shared her experience with violence and painted his nails blue.

The story and the nail polish stuck with him and after partnering with Jin Soon nail polish, the Polished Man was born.

Today the campaign officially launches here in the U.S. with a goal to get 50,000 American men polished.

The campaign is aimed towards men specifically because 90% of all violence against children is at the hands of men.

To get started it’s simple, guys register on the website at polishedman.com, paint a nail, and then post a picture on social media with the hashtag Polished Man.

Women are not off the hook, they are encouraged to take a selfie with a polished man and post under the hashtag I Prefer A Polished Man.

Funds are raised by donations to the Polished Man campaign’s pages and through the company's partner Hagar International.

The money is allocated to locations where poverty is high and children are at the most risk of violence.

Sign up to be a Polished Man or donate to end violence against children today.
