Guns are taking on a new look. Say goodbye to big and bulky more masculine guns and say hello to pink and petite.
Colored pistols are becoming more popular, designed with women in mind. They're smaller, they're lighter and, some would argue, prettier than the traditional handgun.
The owner of Lady Liberty Gunsmithing, Guy Petinga, says the new merchandise is in direct response to industry trends. Research shows one in four women owns a gun, and the numbers are only expected to grow.
"If you want to buy something you want to buy something that is attractive to you and easy to handle," Petinga says. "It's just good marketing."
Color pistols have been around for years but now gun manufacterers are producing and releasing them so women can go to the store and buy them off of the shelf.
