Group tries to crowdfund a race horse

A new campaign lets you help pay for a race horse.

"The People's Horse" is the first crowdfunding campaign that raises funds from hundreds of members to help buy and care for a racehorse. Anyone can join for as little as $8 a month, and many people are getting in on the offer. In just two weeks, the campaign has attracted more than $20,000.

As supporters, you'll have a chance to name The People's Horse, receive detailed reports, articles and videos (even horse cams), head to the barn and backstretch to watch The People's Horse train and go to raceday parties but you won't actually own a share of the horse or make any money.

The campaign claims that due to strict laws surrounding the ownership of racehorses that would not be feasible.
