Glenview Elementary students in Haddon Heights, New Jersey recite the pledge of allegiance each morning.

Since the 9/11 attacks, they've also said "God bless America" after the pledge.  Fifteen years later, the American Civil Liberties Union sent a complaint to the school, urging it to end the practice.

The principal decided to end the tradition to avoid a costly legal battle that could cripple the small school financially.
