If you've ever dreamed of living in a home designed by a mobster, now you have your chance.
The former home of Albert Anastasia Jr. will go up for auction on Dec. 8 with a starting price of $5.5 million.
The home is on 1.3 acres in Fort Lee NJ with waterfront views of Manhattan.
It was designed by Anastasia in the 1940s, roughly a decade before he was shot dead in NYC's Park Sheraton Hotel.
"This building is solid as a rock," said Arlan Ettinger, president at the auction house Guernsey's. "I can just imagine when the mob figure owned this place."
Anastasia remains one of the most feared mobsters in U.S. history.
Following his death, the home came to be owned by Del Webb, American real estate developer and part-owner of the New York Yankees, and later by comedian Buddy Hackett.
Today, the home is owned by the founder of New York Waterway's ferry system, Arthur Imperatore, who has decided to sell the house following the death of his wife.
Despite a number of owners, remnants of the mob still remain.
"The basement to this house is something you have to see to believe: a movie theater, a spa. And, the stories in the late '40s and '50s of the mob is something you certainly can imagine," added Ettinger.
There's also a rumor of a secret tunnel from the house that leads into the cliffside.
